Les Bourne is an award-winning aircraft builder from San Antonio, Texas. His first airplane, a Vans RV-8, won the Bronze Lindy award at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 2004, and Reserve Grand Champion at Sun-n-Fun in 2005. He is currently building an RV-8A. As an EAA Technical Counselor, Flight Advisor, and professional builders' assistant, he has helped numerous other aircraft builders complete their own projects. An avid pilot, he has flown over 55 aircraft types, from low-and-slow taildraggers to supersonic jets. He is a tailwheel instructor, aerobatic instructor, formation instructor, and seaplane instructor.

Les retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1996 as a Lt. Colonel. During his 20+ years in the military, Les flew the T-37, B-52, and T-38. He served as a Flight Commander, Inspector General, Check Pilot, airshow coordinator, and in many other capacities. Following his retirement, Les joined a major airline, and now flies the Boeing 757/767 on domestic and international routes. He is type-rated in the Boeing 737, 757, 767, and 777, and has over 15,000 hours of flight time.

In addition to our growing line of instructional DVDs, we'll soon be creating videos that highlight the majesty, beauty, and sheer fun of aviation — from warbirds to seaplanes, and helicopters to Light Sport Aircraft.

Producer Buck Wyndham is building his own Vans RV-8, and is a warbird instructor pilot and airline pilot.
